Easy way to see water depth?
« on: July 02, 2008, 01:32:24 pm »

Right now I have to hit K and hover over to see water depth.

And if there are stones there, the water graphic doesn't display.

Got to be something I'm missing...

There's a config entry to set water to always display depth (note this can make it difficult to tell which way the water is flowing), but any items in the water will still "cover" it.

In the Init file in the DF directory, there is a setting you can set to make water and magma represented by numbers 1-7.

I forgot the exact file path, but look for init.

And there are other options, which would reduce some headaches.

I would bet money Andrew has edited things retroactively, except I can't prove anything because it was edited retroactively.

Folder is Dwarf Fortress\data\init, IIRC.
