The infinte rejects thing is a known bug with pocket worlds.

I vaguely remember something in the devlog about it being fixed next version.

As a newbie to the game, how do I find out the seed that was generated? 

Also if I use the seed for a different size, will it generate a different world?

In-game, press ESC to see the menu with option to save etc.  There will be an option called "export somethingorother info".  If you just want the seed, make sure only one level is highlighted or it will take for-farking-ever to finish.  Then, in your dwarf fortress folder there will be a text file with the name of your fortress.  This contains the seed.

Also, using different sized world generators for a seed will, as far as I can tell, generate a completely different world.
