Small idea: Leaving notes on objects
« on: June 30, 2008, 02:27:05 pm »

Just a small thought that occurred to me as I was pondering how to set up the levers for my fortress. Basically, if you had a mode which let you check objects for notes and leave notes on objects you could more easily organize your fortress. Might be good to have two separate modes, one to leave notes and another to view them, with the writer moving square by square and the reader acting like the 'V'iew units control; showing the nearest note and allowing cycling between them.

This has been suggested before, several times.

If software was real world, then it'd be something equivalent of hitting a nail with a hammer and having a building collapse on the other side of town.

Don't worry people, sometimes -moments occur

I'd almost be surprised if you could search the word "lever" without finding this one actually :)

Oh. Naturally.
Just ignore this, then. :/

Has anyone suggested the ability to customize furniture names? Like changing a "Gneiss Lever" to "Drawbridge" or "Outer floodgate" or "Kill Noble".

This has possibilities beyond levers, I think.

very few of them could stop you killing your fortress though.
It would be helpful if put in conjunction with greater control of craftdwarf item buffing (anyone got a better name for it?)- label a chair "kings throne" and tell your jeweler to put everything he's got on it.
