Dwarves ignoring drinking designation
« on: June 27, 2008, 08:31:45 pm »

I have over 130 drink listed under my status screen.
There is a brook on my map.  A 4x6 activity zone covers part of that brook with 23 squares of "water source"
Under orders and options, activity zone orders, "Zone-Only Drinking is enabled"
There is no salt water anywhere on the map.
There is no indication that anything is wrong with the water.

The dwarves are taking an extra long trip to make it to a part of the brook that is way out of the way.  They aren't filling buckets either, they are just drinking.  I've actually had a dwarf die of thirst lately.  I can only guess it was a wounded dwarf who got thirsty, and before anyone was able to get a bucket to them they died.

(I also have a pond as a water source which is much closer too)

Edit: Forgot to add, it's a desert region with a wet and dry season.
