Does anybody know exactly how this works?

Supposedly, removing this causes the creature to have at least one of it's kind on the map at all times, but this doesn't seem to work for me. Does anybody know how I can make my creature either appear very often, or be on the map always?

Also, how does this affect the population and cluster tags?

Here is what I have right now.

Ah, got it.

Frequency supposedly defines how often a creature appears, but whether it affects worldgen or fort mode, is unclear.

But do you know if it has any affect on the population tag, which sets how many units can appear per year?

Or if a higher number will make units appear faster?

high frequency means to appear often, no frequency means an equal chance as the others without frequency.
the thing is, with large predator is that they only come a certain number of times on maps. you will have 1 group of large predators each year on benign and neutral maps, and two groups on savage maps.
i believe that a high population number helps as well, but thats just a guess.

have you tried removing their eyes yet?  ;)

Yes, I did remove their eyes.

I have a high population number (check the code) but I thought that they would be randomly spawned according to the population quota, and I didn't know how to make them appear more often.

It made them less aggressive.

Now they chase whatever comes near them, and kill it.

But doesn't it mean they can attack only VERY close targets?
