THREAD_METAL question

What happens if you make an ore have this for some metal other than adamantine? Can you make, say, "copper cloth" out of it?

I'd like to try this with modded mithril. Get a hobbit *cough* dwarf and give him a mithril vest. Troll-Proof!

Only problem is, metal clothes still rot.  I'd suggest just making a chainmail out of a very light metal.

Can you make the metal only able to be used as thread?

If you got rid of the ore tag and put the THREAD_METAL tag in it, it could only be used for thread. Unless you also put the relevant reaction to turn the thread into metal. Adamantine couldn't be made into wafers without the reaction.

shirts don't provide any protections regardless what they're made out of any how (as far as I know) So might as well go with Mithril chain mail since that is really what Frodo had in LOTR. Or maybe make Mithril leather instead of cloth and make a leather armor called (Mithril Shirt) or some such, that wouldn't rot would it ? :P

Having a mithril shirt would only change slashing and piercing damage into bludgeoning damage. It would still hurt a great deal.
