Do modded in civs hunt or recieve migrants?

I have been tinkering with modded civs yet I cannot find a tag that enables or prevents hunting yet my race refuses to do so.

Also for some reason I'm not getting any new migrants eather and I'm wondering if its just hardcoded or something wrong with the entity.

Modded civs can hunt and receive immigrants. I'm not sure what tag would change those.

How do I make a race playable in fortress or adventure mode? I'd like to get into modding, slowly, but I cannot find anything resembling a tutorial at all for it.

There is some information on the archived wiki from an earlier version of DF. A lot of the information there is still good.

You can learn a lot be looking at the files in the raw/objects folder and experimenting.
