Map modifying

Is there any way to manually modify a map?

Urist Austin, Axedwarf.  A dwarf barely alive.  Gentledwarves, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's first bionic dwarf. Urist Austin will be that dwarf. Better than he was before. Better, stronger, faster.

Not necesarly so, it all depends on how you define manually. There should be a possiblity to make a tool that manually allows you to edit the map since the overall structure of the map is defined, even if you can't do it by editing the file.

Poking around with a DFParser.
Bodypart names, creatures names in one easily overviewable place.

Oh my new (old) picture?
