I mean, this is pretty much my own fault, as I've been raiding and exploring sites with the sole intention of introducing some !FUN! to my otherwise stable fortress.
I noticed this outbreak of necromancy when a civvie got spooked seeing a kobold thief through one of the fortress' many windows and reanimated 50 various body parts from our outside corpse piles.
At that time, a quick search of the unit list showed we had 6 necromancers.
That has rapidly "blossomed" to the current total of 15, and includes the Queen.

The problem is that our library is quite extensive, and contains 340 written objects.

How on earth do I find this necronomicon?

I'm unsure what I'll do with it once I find it, as to be honest, it's pretty damned cool, and adds a LOT of flavour to the fortress: in fighting back the darkness, we slowly embraced it.

But just knowing exactly what is spreading this forbidden knowledge would be useful.

Oh and since that outbreak of reanimation, yeah, I've moved the corpse pile inside.

I don't think there's a simpler way than looking at every book.  You can start with those with death- or doom-related titles, since the culprit should have one.

Ironblood didn't use an axe because he needed it. He used it to be kind. And right now he wasn't being kind.

Awesome, thanks Ziusudra!

To be honest, looking through the list of books, I suspected this one, but it wasn't outright blatant:
"It All Begins With Parting"
According to DFHack, it contains the following secrets:
Animate Corpse
Raise bitter ghoul

It's a pitchblende-bound codex written by Vabok Sazirkol. The written portion consists of a 116 page manual concerning the secrets of life and death. The writing has a very serious tone and it is clearly organised.
Overall, the prose is passable.
