Carts can help solve material issues as well. Mostly looking at the mountains, but an industrial ruin has been revealed south of us. That should have a decent amount of scrap if we can reach it. Though it seems to have a permanent darkness we might have to deal with.

A source of stone could allow us to make some houses and tools. It's heavy to move but has a number of uses from cobble roads to signs of status.

Leather clothing is a great idea with how trapping-dependent we are, but transportation sounds really useful. Especially as we start moving people and stuff around through more boxes.

I'm torn on scrap. I'm wary of relying on it as a longterm solution, but we are good at it and we have evidence that there's a lot more of it available than just our starting zone.
