Using 47.05 tilesets on 50.12

Has any of you done it? Had any trouble or crashes or is it mostly safe

Graphics sets just won't work, regular tilesets hav the issues detailed here: https://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/Tileset_repository#Installation

It works, but there are limitations.
See this thread for working examples.

If a tileset is the same size as the default, it will work (unsurprisingly). Funnily enough, it seems that as long as each tile is no more than 10px wide there is no problem regardless of height, so e.g. 10x12 is all good, even though it's a different size to default. The particular width might depend on the size of the DF window (not sure yet).
This means that 12x12 tilesets don't work, at least not at my screen size, but 10x10 or smaller does. Trying 12x12, the scaling looks funny and some portions of the game window become unclickable.

Nowadays, installing the CLA graphics package (excluding creature graphics) is fully functional, and with some adjustments to the settings, even lossless pixel images can be obtained!
