How to equip military with bone armor?

I try to equip my military with bone armor but it is nowhere to be seen in the material list. Is it there or does it not exist in the steam version.

That's not new to the 0.50 release.  It's been that way for a long time.

The workaround is to specify color:white instead of specifying a material.

IIRC, you have to do this with shell armor as well, specifying color:dark green.
