Movement Lag
« on: October 30, 2007, 05:01:00 pm »

For some reason, in adventure mode, I am getting giant amounts lag, I mean like if I click over to the right I have to wait like 2 seconds before the command goes through, I have a fairly good CPU, but I am using Vista, would that affect it much?

It is very annoying and I am wondering if anyone knows any fixes.

Yeah, I'm getting really bad lag as well. I'm on XP, and, for the record, can run Bioshock on high settings better than I'm running DF Adventurer.

Toady says it's a side effect of LOS and the Z-axis, and will be optimized shortly, I think.

Can anybody verify if this lag problem has been fixed in .33a?

Has not been fixed for me, though some places are less laggy than others.
Towns are laggy.

I haven't addressed most of the adv mode lags yet, and some of them, like 3D LOS, are hard.  I don't think I said I'd be able to optimize that particular lag soon -- it's especially bad outside of really tall cliffs and undead towers, since there are more things to check.
