Used DFHack earlier to allow a chicken to ride my adventurer as a mount, which had several interesting effects on gameplay.
The experience was a bit like being confused in NetHack, minus the accidental attacking.

It occurred to me that this is probably the way severe inebriation, confusion, and/or concussed staggering should work.
You take a step in one direction, and then immediately teleport / fall down approximately one to three 3 tiles away of where you moved to.

Z-level transitioning might be a little awkward at the move 3 range.
