Bones and shells disappear over time?

For some reason, they all disappeared after 3 years, even if the dwarves never made crafts.

I’m assuming you had them in a stockpile.  Bones and shells are stored in a refuse stockpile.  Anything stored in a refuse stockpile degrades over time and eventually disappears.  Use ‘em or lose ‘em.

Ah thanks. I thought bodyparts can last years in a stockpile, at least I saw some dragon and hydra parts in the refuse stockpile for more than 5 years.
