conflicting brewable plant wiki references
« on: February 24, 2023, 05:01:32 pm »

I'm a little confused by the plant/fruit status of some plants.

I think that, for example, a raspberry (fruit) is brewable and a raspberry plant (plant) is not, as suggested here -
https://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/Alcohol

But this suggests that it's the other way around -
https://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/Alcohol_plant_stockpile

I may be misinterpreting the "stockpile name" and "plant name". Either way, the two lists are in conflict in several places with respect to the "plant-based" and "fruit-based" labels.

Any idea how to interpret this?

Edited because of loose italicization. Yuck. Sorry.

It's the PLANT_GROWTH ('raspberry', which means the fruit) that is brewed (has DRINK_MAT and SEED_MAT) not the PLANT (raspberry bush), which does not have any uses in Vanilla DF.

So, the fruit is used, bush is not (do dwarves even collect the whole bush?).

Thanks, Urist.

I'm not used to looking at raws, but now I see that the wiki has all materials' raws.

You may have just taught a drunken peasant to fish.
