Stock shows items that are not mine (yet) [Steam]

It seems that when you check items in stock you can see items invaders/visitors wear.
Is it a known bug or a feature?

I think it's always been a feature.  The ASCII version made it a lot clearer though what items were yours and what were not.

Foolprooof way to penetrate aquifers of unlimited depth.  (Make sure to import at least 10 stones for mechanisms)
Toughen Dwarves by dropping stuff on them.  (Nothing too heavy though, and make sure to wear armor.)
