Do monsters respawn?
« on: December 13, 2006, 08:17:00 pm »

I'm trying to explore one of my old fortresses, but I'm having to plow through a huge amount of trolls, mole dogs, etc.  I can slowly chop my way through, but after killing 5 or 6 of them, I have to go back outside and rest because the dwarf has the tired status.

Sleeping outside via the rest command takes a very long time, probably because it is tracking the moves of all the baddies in the fortress.  It's much faster to leave the fortress square to the world map (healing myself and getting rid of the tired state).

So, questions:

1) Do monsters respawn when I leave the tile to the world map?

2) Do monsters respawn when I sleep?

3) Do monsters respawn just when you are in a dungeon?

4) Is there any way to cure the tired state, aside from sleeping?

They only respawn if you travel and come back.

Just walk around without attacking for a while and the Tired status will go away.  It shouldn't take all that long.
