Forgotten beast extract
« on: December 30, 2022, 11:31:20 am »

Alright so, I am finally cleaning out the basement. A while back a forgotten beast with deadly dust got into a fight with some batmen and eventually died. The dust caused necrosis on all covered body parts.

I gave the area a wash for safety but the corpses all still have FB extract on them. What is safe handling for that? If I keep the bodies forbidden can they be walked over safely or will they track extract ("frozen forgotten beast extract" if relevant)? I assume carrying the bodies will coat hands/gloves.

Decontaminate and clean in one foul swoop, using magma!

Contaminated items do not spread onto the tiles around them, unless they get washed by rain or water.  Contaminated tiles themselves will certainly spread it.

I believe stepping on a tile with contaminated items doesn't spread the contaminant.  Dwarfs can still touch it for hauling, looting blowpipes, or getting flung during a cave-in.  Gloves will protect them from contact, but I believe the gloves will then be contaminated...

All in all, forbidding should be fine until you can pump the disinfectant up.
