Single-Step on Steam

Seems the ability to advance the game by a single step is absent in the Steam release. Would it be possible to have it reenabled, perhaps as both a key input and a button somewhere, maybe by the pause/unpause buttons? I can see it being a sort of |> symbol.

This step by step option is very important specially while looking at "real time" combat reports without need to leave the report window
