Say i've accumulated a TON of coins, and iwant to store them somewhere other than having them weigh down my character? I tried putting them on the ground in an open map, and had it disappear... So where can i put it where i can return to it later? Or perhaps 'discover lost treasure' with a future character?

I think the only safe way to do this is to sell it to a shop keeper, and then buy it back when you need it.

Just think of it as a bank with a very heavy holding charge... Thankfully, there's no interest.

Thanks for the reply, but... could i just drop it in any ol town building and return to it later? Or perhaps in a mountain fortress/forest retreat?

Yes, i think that most objects dropped in towns are kept in the town, but just be aware that citizens may pickup your posessions, and that certain objects (like loose coins) may not be 'saved' when you exit the town and return.

What I remember from an old version is that everything you dropped in a town is still there. It just gets scattered randomly across the map, so you'll have to check every single piece of the town for it.

Yep, objects scatter when you leave and return.

Banks, rented rooms, and being able to bury a chest full of coins would (And will!) be awesome when they are added in.
