The battle of Urngom
« on: November 24, 2006, 03:56:00 pm »

Her name was Serafina Youthtouch, a young human. She started out in some small backwater near a mountain, the Everseeing Everlasting Mountain to be precise, in the Mythical Land of Dawn. Seeking to make a name for herself, she hired a single bodyguard and set out for some nearby dark fortresses. After she and her companion had cleansed two of these fortresses and earned long and impressive sounding titles from killing goblin children, they arrived at
the fortress of Urngom.
Things started out calmly enough, one or two goblins fell to her and Gal Idlaihi's blades and neither of them had picked up any wounds. But then, turning a corner of the fortress, Serafina noticed no fewer than 4 sets of glowing eyes peering down the corridor at her. Gasping in alarm, she seized her scimitar and charged the isolated child on her right. Meanwhile, Gal began combat with a goblin hammerman on the left with a goblin and a child incoming.
The child proved a stubborn foe, receiving many mangled limbs before finally falling before her. She turned her attention to the goblins fighting her companion, and between them they bested the vile creatures. However, as they looked up they noticed a further three sets of glowing eyes moving quickly through the gloom towards them. Serafina raised her sword to strike, but a blow from a goblin swordsman sent her tumbling to the ground, stunned. She recovered her senses and crawled out from under the mass of bodies weighing her down, but her companion had already suffered grievous wounds. Drawing her strength to her, she attacked the remaining goblins savagely, cutting them down to the last man. It was too late for Gal Idlaihi, however, as he lay covered in blood his heart stopped beating and he breathed his last.

Just wanted to share that. Has anyone else had any amazing battle stroies or anything like that? It was bloody (pun intended) fun!

Theodor was a well-known and respected hammerman in the empire of Rostfeneldur. His reputation as undead slayer had travelled far and the king of Rostfeneldur decided to give him a quest well worthy for his skills.
Theodor didn't know what to think when he heard he must slay a titan, living far north in the Dwarfen lands. But since the quest was given by a king, he couldn't refuse and silently bowed to the king and said he'd leave immediately.

On his long journey, he deperately tried thinking of different ways to slay this thing. Although he had never seen a titan, but he had heard stories of heros killed in the hands of terrifying titans. Quest seemed like suicide, but still he did not turn back. It was a question of honor.

After a long travel, Theodor arrived to the cave of the titan. He picked up couple of rocks laying in the dirt and put them into his backpack. Sligthly hesitating, he entered the cave and moved as slowly and silently as he could. Maze-like cave was filled with aggressive rodents, which all met silent and quick death from the iron maul of Theodor. He had almost inspected whole cave when he saw huge black shade coming towards him in a small 'room'. As fast lightning he threw one of his rocks at the shade and was met only with a small grunt. The shade moved closer and Theodor could see it was the titan he had came to kill. Quickly he raised his maul and swinged at titans leg. Not even bruise. He hid is surprise and gathered all of his strenght to hit at the incoming arm of the titan. The arm didn't even slow down and it hit Theodor onto his head causing him to fall to the ground with lots of pain and bruises.

Theodor paniced and crawled away from the Giant. Just when he was going to stand up titan slammed him to the ground again. Now in a pure terror he crawled even further from the titan. Giant took couple of fast steps towards Theodor and raised his fist in order to smash its victim into a lump of gore. It was then when theodor made his last desperate attempt of defending himself and swinged his iron maul at stomach of the titan.

It seemed to be the weak spot of the creature and it clearly started feeling sick. Titan stumbled around the 'room' vomiting all over. Theodor knew it was his time to strike this thing down. He gathered himself, tried to forget all the pain and stood up. Titan was still busy vomiting around when Thedor ran at it and swinged his trusty maul towards its head. Force of the blow was clearly not enough to hurt the titan as it just grunted and kept on vomiting. Theodor didn't stop and swinged at titan many times more, without causing even bruises. Couple of times titan punched him to the groung but he kept on swinging the Titan. Titan seemed to only care when he swinged at its stomach. At those times it just felt more sick. Finally Theodor got tired and just watched from the side when titan, who was now lying on ground, felt sick.

After a long suffering, the titan finally died. Propably some inner bleeding, thought Theodor and walked away with a huge feeling of relief. He'd be hero back home and there would be glorious songs made about him and nobody would ever know, that he won with pure luck instead of brave fight.
