Flow types and materials
« on: January 04, 2023, 05:30:49 pm »

So, I've been working on a D&D mod (currently on the workshop), and one of the issues that I keep running into is that I want a specific flow type (like dragonfire or fireball), but I want them to use a different material or work at a different temperature than dragonfire.

I propose that FLOW tokens and their arguments should be changed so that material emissions could be a lot more diverse and versatile.

One idea of implementation that I had floating around (and I suggested to Putnam before asking if I should post here), was to change the way that flows are called to be more like [CDI:FLOW:DRAGONFIRE:MATERIAL:LOCAL_CREATURE_MAT:EXAMPLE_MATERIAL:LIQUID], maybe followed by a range token, like [CDI:FLOW_RANGE:5], which would, in theory, make it so that a flow of the example material will act like dragonfire, but only goes up to a range of 5 tiles. I think that a change like this would be tremendously beneficial to many, many mods. Thank you!
