Part 1 - htp://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=180387.0

I am still going to refrain from taking creative liberties to ensure the story be told as authentically as it can be. However, as I have gained more experience uncovering this tale using legends, fort, and adventure mode, I can glean deeper details than my previous entry.

Continued... An exodus influenced by the same forces whom condemn
The fall of Boltpasses was symptomatic of the Constructive Empire's decline. The decay first destroyed distant settlements and was now closing in on its heart - Esteemabyss.

The Human Castle of Wheelsmatches...Population 400
Scraped Nobilities has garnered high acclaim. Stolen, lost, turned spoil in unrelated conflicts, a series of reclamations by the Constructive Empire, and several copies made along the way. It had reached settlements more than 100 days travel from Esteemabyss.
In the wake of his newfound success as an author and permanent retirement as a soldier, Atir curated important friends. Nepotism earned him a position as Lord of Wheelsmatches. Today, he has joined nobility once again in taking his throne.

Town of Esteemabyss...Population 1900
During his year long rule over Wheelsmatches, Atir had brought the castle close to collapse. He conducted a series of mediocre espionage attempts, hired droves of mercenaries, and ordered a series of invasions with an exponential decline in success. The population had been reduced to 40 and the Constructive Empire's reach begins to wane. Atir had become vulnerable. He flees to occupy a newly vacated position as baron left by a series or regicides in Esteemabyss.

Town of Esteemabyss...Population 85
The one armed baron feels the influence of the same condemning forces eroding their walls as he did back in 314. Warring civs now occupy the neighboring territories and the last pyrrhic victory took 600 lives; leaving Esteemabyss a decimated remnant.
Atir lie infirmed to a traction bench. The incomplete sutures lining his splinted skull begin to leak as he falls back into indefinite unconsciousness. Immortal hands devoid of the warmth of life steal away his body into the night.

Hamlet of Ismanmedon... Population 15...A moment quickly fading into the past
A gorlak crawls up from cavern depths to join and acculturate into civilized life. A century later, for reasons unknown to its population, the same gorlak joins the rural Hamlet of Ismanmedon. His friends know him as Urist Ezummuthir - considered by all to be a trusted pillar to his community and a masterful writer.
Egesh Onrulon took to learning wrestling from Urist over the last few months, bonding them closely. Their bonds spawned a close friendship as they developed into equals, furthering eachothers expertise.
Egesh had earned the privilege of proofreading Urist's work a few months back and was beginning on his newest work today. He couldn't deny the essence imbued into his writings increased with every release. It's words moved around inside his skull with intangible force. His dazed comprehension cut short by a paralyzing grasp. Urist reveals his true identity as the infamous necromancer Sarvesh Niralcatten.
Egesh is abducted and both vanish into the night.

Singseer...Population 1000
You would be hard pressed to consider Hellrang rife with opportunities. Adil Breechedincenses was drawn away to a larger city, joining a carpenters apprenticeship with The Spoils of Timber.

A swordsman with godlike talent arrives at Egesh's tower. Egesh does not take much notice as the steel greatsword is raised. The first slash cuts through open air. A hyperspeed flash as the swordsman's opponent dissappears. He has no time to respond as his limbs are grappled and twisted. Egesh leaves the human pretzel behind, unscathed.

Hamlet of Ismanmedon...Population 55
Egesh's unquenched need for family has driven him to Ismanmedon. A pervasive loneliness lines his expression. Atir the enslaved has become immaterial as Egesh flagrantly disregards him. Fleeing to reunite. A face he had not seen in more than half a decade. Kir, now much older than his father in appearance, rebuffs his affections. The repulsion of uncanny youth, go forth and drive out the heathen! An argument descends into violence and his father cannot retaliate. Yielding with the rending of every limb in his son's bare hands.
Atir notices a protrusion amidst the detached torso. Text written by the gorlak necromancer Sarvesh Niralcatten with words that move around inside his skull.
They both have absconded into the wilderness never to return.

Hellrang
Adil visits home from Singseer. The panes of the outermost tavern hillock frost over in the late winter air. Inside is barren of furniture or barrels. It's obvious there hasn't been any activity inside for a while now.
Noone walks the street of the residential quarter save the occasional bird. The neighbors' door has been taken off of its hinges. There are no signs of life.
The voices who can often acquaint his doorstep have gone silent. The door swings open to the remnants of a wrecked living room. Broken furniture piled over the floor, a sole dining chair remains. Going into the back bedroom he finds it stripped of everything,  even a bed.
Adil visits the brook he used to play make believe in as a child. The first carpentry shop he worked at years ago looms vacantly above. A hidden fissure ushers blood downstream. The well erected above it acts as Hellrang's water supply.
Inside, Adil finds himself trapped in a subterranean body of water. A clay ceiling stops him from surfacing as he struggles for air. A ramp gives way to an airpocket. Stone shores make way to a furnished chamber.
Something squishes underfoot... Adil had been too concerned with his own survival to notice his surroundings until now. Blood saturates every inch of him, pooling onto the mound of mangled limbs decorating the mudstone floor.
Looking back, every ounce of water had been tainted. The remains of seven float within. Familiar faces of neighbors and close friends from childhood, but none of family.
A door stands at the back, next to an engraved wall. It depicts the dead remains of Astan Growlcurled, one of the neighbors suspended in red before him.
Adil opens the door. He discovers a bedroom on the other side. Bursting out of the hillock he finds himself in the middle of the residential district.
The morning sun has risen. Knowing nothing of what happened to his family, Adil uses the opportunity to leave for Singseer.

Hammerlord Asu Omarinih creeps through the jungle. A campfire can be seen through the trees.
Atir and his accomplices reach their rendezvous. They have successfully raided what was now known as The Kobold Castle of Boltpasses. The rejoice in their spoils is cut short. An iron warhammer crushes the first bandit's head with a single swing. There was no time to react amidst the confusion before a second had his windpipe crushed.
The remaining thieves charge Asu. Their blows deflect off of steel armor and 5 more are bludgeoned in an instant. Unscathed, he begins chasing down the survivors before noticing the disfigured remains of his bounties rising from the dead.
An undead bandit is unphased by his hand exploding into gore, tearing and biting at Asu. The force of another blow shatters a ribcage. Their veracity is not deterred as they peel away Asu's limbs.
Atir leaves with his final two living companions: Ad Passageglaze and Kiris Tomeenjoyed.
