If my experience in vic2 has taught me anything, it's that armed pacifistic absolute monarchical anarcho-capitalism with socialist tendencies is the supreme form of governance. I ended up turning Tsarist Russia into a paradise where 300k capitalists living in Moscow were really enthusiastic about giving healthcare and education to the rest of the country, where living standards were always on the upswing and the country just ran itself, with the absolute monarch existing to nullify factional politics

Ignoring all realistic concerns, we'd do awesome in Roman times!  "Fighting" enemies by constructing walls and ditches in front of them is like 99% of combat back then.  Heck maybe some of our younguns can bring those "Fortnite" skills too.

Then after some crazy hijinks we get to be responsible for inspiring every classical megaproject.  It's a perfect plan~

Past me was fine, but there's a great deal of my ancestors that could stand a stabbing if it wouldn't unravel reality or somethin'.

... there'd be a lot of people to kill if going that route, though. Kings to unking, slavers to defenestrate into a shark's mouth, etc. Plenty of us probably have some part of the family tree that would have made the world a less miserable place if it had been trimmed, really... being US South with European royalty back there somewhere it's less like "some part" and more like "huge chunks", heh.

Actually, most of my ancestors either were decent folks, or their misdeeds lead to me being the person I am today.
So, yeah, gonna leave them alone.

Presumably, if we were teleported far enough back in time, we could sidestep the issue by inventing some other system.

I only have to go as far back as a great grandfather to find a slave owner (or close enough to it it's not worth making a distinction), m'self. Plenty of rapists, extremely violent domestic abusers, and so on, too, even without getting into the royalty parts. Person I am today ain't nearly worth the suffering my ancestors inflicted on folks :V
