The road was endless. The supplies were not. The vacation gator did not care about the latter though, as she ransacked the few drawers and found some salty crackers, which she swallowed whole.

Meanwhile, Curious was finished with her little feast, and had the idea to share its leftovers with Jodie. With a large leap, she emerged from the shadows and landed onto Jodie's lap, who had been napping on a seat. He woke up to see a bloody mouse remains on his lap, and an affectionate cat. He yelped, swiping the remains off his legs, much to Curious' dismay.

Then, the van shook.

''Hah, I KNEW this thing had some precious stuff in it!'' Billy said as he held what appeared to be a blue metal rod. ''I am not sure what this is, though? Smells like candy-''

''Can you please not tear apart the van!?'' Magma would've complained further, but he was interrupted when he noticed a glowing thing on the side mirror. Something that wasn't the sun.

''Duz anyone else also say thuh glowin' bird, or izit gist may?'' The alien said as he looked up to the roof window. Magma moved his head-torso-whatever to the side to see above the car.  seagull was there, flying without moving a feather and effortlessly keeping up with the van. Magma was surprised, but not shaken.     

''Oh. I guess I know who that is.'' He said knowingly. Jonathan shrieked in response.

''Wha- What's ahead- OH MY-'' The passengers and the driver were flung from their seats as the van abruptly stopped. A giant herd of wild camels were blocking the road. Magma honked the horn, but they didn't budge.

''Soooo... Camel meat, anyone?''

The seagull, still somewhat tandem with the van, turns the van's abrupt stop into its sudden dive.  It intends to scare and guide the camels off the road and off to the side.  It'll get 'as close as needed', but it's herding, not harming.  It'll talk to them about jumps, finely chewed cud, and their own ways to seek perfection, but not on this road all while making all ways except off the road seem seagull-filled and problematic, mostly because its body is so often or recently there.

Curious looks out through the van’s windows.  What are all these strange beasts out there?  Then she sees the seagull.  What a wonderful entree to follow the appetizer that she’s just had!  But how to get it?  Curious licks her lips…

Oasis?  Aren’t there no oases in North America?  Does that mean we’re not going to Florida?  Are we in the Middle East?  Or, perhaps, in Australia?  Doesn’t Australia not have any oases, either?
