Acquired taste trait and food token
« on: February 11, 2022, 08:54:13 am »

First time suggesting something, I looked up and it seemed like nothing like that was posted before.

The idea: I would like to suggest that some non-dwarven foods (especially exotic ones like bilberry or carambola wine) get a special acquired taste token, which has a tiny chance of giving a dwarf the acquired taste trait for that food if consumed repeatedly, yet not excessively (you can also make different degrees of it). It will be visible in the dwarf's thoughts and preferences as "has an acquired taste for [insert_food]." and consuming those will have a tiny chance of a positive thought. When it comes to meat, why not make it depend on the exotic pet token as well.

Why: To make the world a bit more rich in lore for those who like to be nosy and inspect their dwarves' lives. Seeing acquired tastes, one can then presume what biome a new arrival used to live in and how well one's own dwarves have acclimated to their new fort.
