Dwarfs don't have bathrooms.

That's some pretty powerful magic right there.  Unless that "mud" they keep tracking all over the place isn't really mud at all.

Hey! My brother was killed by carp! Those monsters ate him alive!

I think it's more important that runes were part of Norse civilization - mind you, they were just an adaptation of the latin alphabet. They did have certain mystical qualities associated with them, but carving a single rune into something to give it power feels incredibly gimmicky.

It'd make more sense to have the dwarves write something. "I RAKUST MADE THE WEAPON" on a hammer or "KOGAN LIKES ELVES" on a wall in the dining room. It'd be even more interesting if the dwarves did this of their own accord.

Once sending out armies to goblin towers and what not is implemented, the dwarves could also note down "ZAN WAS HERE" on the constructions the people they're conquering or visiting have - this was very common for the vikings to do, and there are many examples of statues and monuments that have been so defaced.</STRONG>

I reckon this would be great especially if dwarves has controlled tantrums aimed specifically at one person who defiled their artwork.

Logem Godencog has grafied a masterwork statue
Aban onulamkol is tantruming
Aban onulmakol has punched Logem Godencog
Aban onumakol has thrown Logem Godencog into the chasm
Aban onumakol looks satisfied
Aban onumakol has returned to work

Magical engravings?

Bet you could make Glyphs of Warding with those...

Gravied? This wouldn't have anything to do with being instructed to "gravely roast the Master"?

This is an engraving of a dwarf and a crown. The dwarf is raising the crown. The engraving has been defaced.

This is a Graffiti of nobles by Onul Roughnessspeaches. The nobles are making a submissive gesture. This Graffiti rests on an engraving.
