The manager, food, booze, and changing population
« on: November 11, 2020, 01:38:49 am »

Does anyone know how to set up a work order for food or booze such that the total kept on hand is some multiple of the population?

Really hoping somebody puts this in their signature.

In the vanilla manager I think you have to keep changing the number manually.

DFHack "workorder" combined with "repeat" employs a logic that can perform a check against current conditions and adjust the number of units/jobs to order appropriately. Currently the pre-scripted uses do not cover what you're asking, but "Count how many animals need to be milked, and order that minus milking jobs already in queue" is quite similar and would mean the second half of the problem is already done if you are able to supply your own script for counting the number of fortress inhabitants vs. food/drink on hand.
