Dwarven Miscarriage
« on: January 02, 2007, 11:45:00 am »

So apparently this can happen. My baroness had a miscarriage but strange enough the game didn't feel the need to tell me that, but will for any other birth. Any other kinda strangeness like this goes on? Do i need a coffin for a dwarven fetus?

How can you tell if a dwarf is pregnant? How do you know a miscarage occured? Is there now a dwarf fetus in your graveyard, refuse, or food stockpile?

naw it just says so in her description. She is ecstatic about it though, i guess having a child means she has to start splitting her funds

You don't need a coffin for a miscarriage, and they aren't announced; they're only listed in the mother's thoughts.  I usually only spot them when I see an unhappy dwarf in an otherwise-ecstatic fortress: miscarriages are quite traumatic to dwarves, although they can be overcome by many happy experiences.  Like lots of booze.
