I have heard of others pumping magma, so it can be done. I think it requires steel or other materials that don't melt, but I haven't done it myself so I can't be sure.

The behaviour should be the same on water, right?
We could try to cause a collapse in water, using a brook or something. If the rock doesn't float, neither would it on magma (even if densities were implemented, d_magma < d_obsidian as well as d_water < d_obsidian).

That reminds me, why is magma always obsidian magma?

I think I understood the word "rapidly".

It means when the magma cools really quickly it turns into a glassy rock.
