Dwarfs sharing furnace... is there a limit?

Maybe this is not a surprise, but it is to me because I've never noticed it before.
In a Wood Furnace, I added 4 jobs to make charcoal "Do it now!" and two dwarfs ran there and both are making charcoal at the same time.
It just shocked me, that's all.

FPS in Gravearmor (850+ dwarves) is 3-6 (v0.47.05 lives on).

Sharing has been witnessed in the past (I think on other workshops), but I believe it's a bug.

I recently noticed my armoursmith and weaponsmith sharing a forge when I set "do now" for jobs to make a copper helm and copper bolts.
