Can't make lye because "no Lye-containing item"

I have A LOT of lye in buckets sitting in my ashery, and have alot of tallow, but the soap workshop can't make soap, when I click "add new task" I see that both make soap from oil and tallow are red, I get why I can't make it from oil I don't have oil but why can't I make it from tallow? when I press "t" to make soap this shows up: https://fv20.failiem.lv/thumb_show.php?i=sjds8585&view&download_checksum=e64bd8982c3f4076a713e491a2c92f8f879b2a70&download_timestamp=1579877216

Is this a bug?

Try setting a stockpile for the lye next to the soap workshop - it might be an issue with the items being in the workshop still.

Do you have stockpiles linked to the workshop? If you do, items not in linked stockpiles will not be available to it (i.e. you need to have both the lye and the tallow in stockpiles linked to the soapery). You can't use forbidden items either (could e.g. be caused by fat fingering in the stocks screen). Items left in a workshop is generally not a problem, unless the workshops are far apart.

check for linked stock piles as suggested before. De-link all stockpiles and see if that does it. All else fails deconstruct the Ashery. I've also used a manager before get get stuck jobs like this to complete. So you could also try making soap via the manager tasks and that might get it done.

Also if you don't have my dwarfs carrying things to stockpiles it's generally a good idea to make sure you haven't accidentally switched off something in the orders screen. Just a few random accidental keystrokes can keep your dwarfs from being allowed to carry certain items. Make sure you didn't accidentally forbid the buckets/lye. And if nothing else, it might be that you've just got too many jobs for the dwarfs to do and not enough hands to do them all - if you don't have any/enough dedicated laborers and just leave the stockpiling jobs to any dwarf with free time on their hands, those jobs are pretty low priority and just might not be getting done due to lack of time/workforce.
