My dwarfs are not delivering food to food stockpiles. I have plump helmets withering in the fields. I have hundreds of food items sitting in the trade depot. I have seeds scattered all over the fortress. Yet my dwarfs will not haul any of these things to my food stockpiles.
When I discovered the problem, I began to experiment. I turned off all labors except food hauling for all dwarfs. I un-linked my food stockpiles from their associated workshops. I deleted and recreated the food stockpiles. I created a single food stockpile next to the fields which accepts all food. Nevertheless, I haven't seen a single dwarf move a single food item into a stockpile.
I've tried allowing barrels and disallowing barrels. I've tried allowing and disallowing prepared food. I've verified that Additional Options - Allow Plant/Animal is turned on for the stockpiles. I've scanned the stocks, and I can't find a single food item in a stockpile anywhere. I've scanned the jobs list and I've never seen a single job to move a food item to a stockpile.
In the game right now, I have 22 idle dwarves, all with food hauling enabled. I have at least 20 plump helmets which have been harvested and are laying in the fields, and I have a food stockpile right next to the fields which accepts all types of food. None of the idle dwarfs shows any interest in moving those plump helmets into the stockpile.
Dwarfs have no trouble hauling food when they get hungry or need to plant seeds. They are also willing to dump food items. They just won't bring food to stockpiles.
Has anyone seen this before? What is going on?
