Do strange mood use all items of a stack,if they use a stackable material?

So,I just slew a marsh titan and ended up with a 80 stack of marsh titan bones,not long after,one of my dwarves had a strange mood involving bone,and he grabbed that one bone stack

However,once he was done,none of the bones were left,and I'm wondering (and kinda hoping) that I'm just blind or something,even though it doesn't appear in the stocks screen either.

So,did I miss something,or did Urist McCraftsdwarf put several tons worth of titan bone into an animal trap?

Yes, he used the entire stack. Just as he'd use an entire boulder to make an amulet, or waste a whole bar of metal to get those menacing spikes into an earring.
