Apologies if this isn't allowed;
Ages ago (like a couple of years) I swear there was a discussion thread about just how much you could actually remove from DF before it stopped working - one thing I remember is there has to be at least one type of rock with a certain tag to create the barrier above HFS. But I can't find the thread for the life of me, can anyone help?
