You roll the dice. After spinning a little, it stops.
You look at it, shaking a little, you can see a 3.
You lucky bastard ! The other day, as you were walking down the street, a piece of paper strapped in the gutter caught your eye.
Usually, you don't stop to gather garbage, but this time was different.
This paper could be anything, so you stopped and took it.
You read the paper. It appears to be a lottery ticket for the 75th Grand Lottery Contest (GLC) of 2019.
You heard of it on the radio. One could win up to 1 billion dollars completely tax-free !
You look both ways, no-one to be seen. So you keep the ticket.
After a while, back home, the results are there ! Your ticket is the winning one !
Your dreams will become true ! You are now rich ! You just have to go on TV, show everybody your ticket and be rich !
Last Friday, you dressed up very nicely, and went to the 75th GLC's live show.
Everydoby praised you, you lucky you. They gave you the big check. Then, started the interview...
During the interview, you were asked where you bought the ticket.
To this you repplied quickly (and I have to say, stupidly) that you simply found it on the street. You never actually bought a ticket !
Yadi yadi yada. You go back home with your money.
Some time passes. You receive a letter from a man calling you a thief !
This guy claims he is the rightful owner of the GLC's big prize ! That he's the owner of the ticket ! He scanned you the bill of him buying the ticket 6 days ago, as evidence of his rightness. It seems legit. Everything fits.
He also wrote you that he is a highly placed person in the society, and that he's suing you.
You sweat a little...
Turn on the TV, and see your name on the news.
It appears the man who sent you the letter is very influential, as the news titles "Is the 75th GLC winner a crook ?"
Your name is everywhere. You appear to be the bad guy !
Footage of you confessing, during the interview, you never bought the ticket is replayed.
It really sounds like this money doesn't belong to you Just like Pride Rock does not belong to Scar in The Lion King
Your heart rate intensifies...
Few time later, the influential man got you to court. According to experts, the trial will last several years.
After that, you receive word from your banker telling you your money has been seized for the duration of the trial.
It is still your money, but you can't spend it; as, you know, if you are prooved guilty, it is the other man's money, so you are not allowed to use it.
Your life will be trials, and courts, and paparazzis now.
You have won the billion dollars, even though you can't really smell them.
Without the jackpot, you can't afford the large lawyers fee. And you will probably have to sell your house and loose your job and such.
With all the induced stress, you will either take or loose a lot of weight. You choose.
Hey ! At least you're a billionaire. Kinda. Was it worth it ?
My turn ! I wish I had a dragon pet. Which I could use to destroy my ennemies and conquer the world.
