General Fortress mode Q&A (Minor incidents/difficulties)(open-source)

Inquire on any unknown aspect that is a non-major incident and require no odd and usually malevolent innovations of dwarf fortress (fortress mode) (subjective) here, and expect answers and flamewars and further enquiries induced from these answers.
Anyone can ask and answer.

Well, yes, but that thread really needs a title change if it's going to help anyone at all. Q&A threads are great for helping for new people. But only veterans know that "2014" means "2019".
