A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...=STAR WARS AGE OF REBELLION: SHADOW PROSPECT=What is this?Star Wars: Age of Rebellion is a tabletop game system by Fantasy Flight Games, set in the Star Wars Universe. It- along with its sibling books Edge of the Empire and Force and Destiny- allows for dynamic storytelling while granting players a wealth of frameworks and systems to learn, create and play a Star Wars character of their choice.
How will this game be run?This game will be primarily run on a Discord Server, with text-based sessions occurring once to twice a month. Players will be required to set aside time for at least one three hour session each month. Players who fail to consistently attend sessions at least once a month will be considered for replacement.
Join the Discord Server Here!When will sessions take place?Sessions will take place on times and days agreed by the Players and GM, typically at the end of each session. Weekends will be preferred, but Weekdays are not completely unavailable, though they will be restricted to evenings on the Eastern Standard Time Zone (EST).
When does this game take place?The game will start 7 standard months after the Battle of Yavin. For reference, The Empire Strikes Back takes place 3 years after.
Who are the players?A group of fresh faces within the ranks of the Rebel Alliance, but recognized as promising enough to act as a complement to the Alliance's SpecForce. Players can come from nearly all corners of the galaxy, quickly gathered together to provide assistance to a SpecForce operation currently in progress in the Thesme region, near the Gordian Reach.
The game will generally revolve around formally serving under an established command, as opposed to independent operation. As such, the Player Characters are encouraged- but not required- to be inclined towards actively serving the Rebellion. Backgrounds involving coercion or press-ganging into service are discouraged.
Character Creation- Five Player Characters will be initially selected from the pool of applicants.
- All Careers and Specializations from Age of Rebellion and Edge of the Empire will be permitted.
- Careers from Force and Destiny and other Force-Sensitives are allowed, with the following restrictions:
* Only a maximum of TWO Force-Sensitive characters may be selected from the available applicants.
* Force-Sensitive applicants may select only ONE specialization that provides Force Rating upon initial creation. Additional Force Rating-capable specializations may not be purchased initially, and will only be available for purchase later on.
* Applicants may only purchase the base form and upgrades for the Move, Enhance and Foresee Force Powers upon initial creation and once the game has started. Additional Force Powers will only be available for purchase later on.
* Force-Sensitive characters will possess both a Duty and Morality, however they are not permitted to use the Starting Bonuses from the Force and Destiny Rulebook, and may only use Duty-related starting bonuses out of the Age of Rebellion Rulebook, same as Non-Force-Sensitive characters.
* Lightsabers and other Force-related equipment may not be purchased by the players during creation, nor will they be provided initially. Keep this in mind when purchasing talents and skills. - All Species are allowed, with the following exceptions:
* Gank
* Hutt
* Chiss
* A case may be made for an existing species not available in the rulebooks (such as Jawa, Selkath, etc), but a reasonable background must be provided, and any species characteristics are subject to the GM's discretion. - All players start with 10 Duty.
- The Starting Rebellion Resource will not be made available to players. Instead, an additional 500 credits will be made available to each player, increasing the starting amount to 1000.
- Character sheets are highly recommended to be made available in a public Mythweavers sheet at https://www.myth-weavers.com/. Direct text-based sheets posted here are accepted for application, but they must be moved over to a Mythweavers sheet if selected.
Applications will be accepted here until next May 31st, at which point I will review and accept 5 players into the game. Acceptance will be based on a combination of how well a character's backstory fits, how well a character can fit into necessary roles and generally how available a player might be. All other applicants will be placed into a waitlist, and may be requested later on in the event any players drop out. Once applicants are selected, I will be intending to run the first session within the next couple days, on either June 1st or 2nd.
The
Discord Server is open and available to discuss the game and character creation. Good luck, and above all, have fun!
