Was wondering since I was reading about megabeasts and some of them can breed.

I think fort mode you could eg a pair of tame rocs for example

but as for world gen and adventure I'm not so sure. Any thoughts?

Over in the Museum III game the world reverted to the Age of Myth (and Legends) three times in worldgen, so it's certainly possible for that to happen. I would think it's possible in Fortress mode, though you'd need to capture a breeding pair of Hydras or Rocs and follow the usual method of hatching eggs. Adventure mode, on the other hand, is unlikely to allow that to happen.

I think it is also possible via necromancy.  Furthermore, I have a self-made night troll mod which creates megabeast spouses, so i see this a lot more often.

It's definitely possible. Modded megabeasts that can breed on their own result in numerous Ages of Myth.
