I know it looks fine at a glance, and if the draw wasnt so poor it would be doable.  I have a relic that retains my hand, and max hand is 10 cards.

7? of them are powers, none of them are block.  The issue is that the 4legged bird gets stronger with every power played, and has a 4-hit attack with completely reams through the buffers.

Essentially I had enough juice to take out 1 minion, but all of my conventional block as well as my other damage cards are in the bottom of said deck, and to get to them I have to power the bird boss up.

I did end up losing this, though I admit I held out longer than I thought I would.  Too little damage and block dealt up front.  Was a really fun run, I seemed to get all the cards I needed to make a relatively compact powers deck.

The game gives me a new ship. I transfer into it and have my old one fly with my. I'm about halfway to the jumpgate before I realize that the ship was all it gave me. No weapons, scanners, etc. The gun that my starting ship had two of, costs 5 times of the money I had on hand, each. I couldn't even afford the most basic missile.

I would have transferred the equipment, or at least transferred to the old ship, except I could find no way to order the old ship to dock somewhere so I could transfer.

I figure I'd just fly on, and just have my escort ship deal with threats. First mission after that, I have to slowly track a pirate ship across multiple sectors, leading to an attack by about half a dozen ships. Wingman does piss-all and I die within seconds anyway. Last autosave was quite a while ago.

Found out what happens if you fall down a trapdoor in zone 5.  It's pretty  rude, actually.

Decided to play a new game for a change. Repeatedly got my ass kicked across multiple engagements by a griffin I have come to call Cuntshits Mcflaps. Because fuck 'em. First fight I used a wakestone after getting stomped, really shouldnt have. Then it flew away. I know its the same griffin because the damage done to it is persistent. Second fight Im not sure what actually happened, but I died. Third fight I came quite close to killing it thanks to its only weakness; explosive arrows to the face, but it electrocuted me at the exact moment I ran out of stamina and stood still.

One of these days that fucker will flap no more. But not tonight, apparently...

Several times restarted, since I only had one, maybe two nearby stars in jump range in each attempt. Probably more if I used ER ships, but that wouldn't allow colony ships to follow so what's the point anyway? Sure there were stars in range at sub-light, but that takes literally dozens of turns at minimum.
Spoiler: Explanation (click to show/hide)

Finally got one with lanes close enough for starting ships to get around. Found some neat planets. Then the bad things became apparent. Lost a few colony fleets to silicoids. Lost a colony to an attacking queen. Almost lost a colony fleet to a colony trap. Delays from the silicoids caused me to lose another colony fleet because their destination was colonized by an enemy empire. Research rolls were crap, no cruiser-sized freighters, and apparently no dreadnoughts. Finally just gave up when the AI rebellion happened. I wasn't even boosting it or anything.

Tried strive to survive, chose to drop the difficulty. Once again, there's something, some mod or combo, that's wrecking my colony's strength.

In my first autumn, I'm using scavenged weapons and ammo, I have one suit of recon armour that I looted off of an empire attacker. I have five colonists, one being a child who crashlanded. I saved him just because he was a relative of a colonist and I don't want him crying because his kid died.

What does the game see as appropriate to send at me? Eight fucking empire soldiers. All baseliners, so no easy knockouts due to being genies or somesuch. 2/3 of them have recon armour, so they're tough to kill. Every single one armed with long-range, heavy weapons - Charge anti-material rifles, LMGs, that sort of thing.

What the fuck does the game expect me to do against that? I engage them in melee, half of them just shoot me to death. I engage at range, all of them shoot me to death. I can't set up traps because I don't have the resources to wall myself in and make a firing range or trap corridor. I can't even properly hurt them because they're all armoured to the gills. Apparently the answer is "IDK, just fucking die".

How quickly can you put a caravan together and ditch the base?

Went into the main boss fight of the underwater city storyline(which is, of course, a Cthulhu expy). I'm supposedly being helped by two NPCs the bitchiest pirate girl in fiction and what you'd get if Sidon was a Twitch streamer, but they weren't doing any damage. What I'm fighting is a shit-ton of tentacles, all at over level 40, and they teleport around. My combat skills were in the 20s and I had full iron gear, but at that level I'd need probably full Mithril or even Sunite. I probably would have fared better if my chain lightning spell worked, but it was locked out probably because the fight is underwater. Oddly, my fireball spell worked.

I barely got myself enough breathing room to eat some roast dorado to give myself enough mana to teleport back home.

Check the colony value? Its entirely possible that there is some item/pawn in there from some mod that's secretly valued at 99999 or something that's messing you up.
Visible raid points is a useful tool to help you find and debug the problem as well.

Lost my flagship because for some dumbass reason my Eradicator decided to use me as cover, despite having 0 flux, and then pushed me into the enemy despite me fluxing out.

The AI can be smart, but for some reason that particular Eradicator has it out for me. Whenever I'm flying by it, the thing pushes me. Whenever I need to be in front of it, it blocks me. Whenever I need shelter, it pushes my arse.

Multiple attempts, each time the game kicking me in the balls hard enough to not want to play anymore. First attempt, start on the Legends default setting. Can't go more than a sector or two before running into unfriendly life or pirates. Fucking pirates everywhere. Had colony ships going to multiple neutral colonies of my species, only for them to suddenly fall under the influence of one of the bug empires. They also steal a late-tech derelict right from under me.

Second attempt, another Legends game. Find a system with a neutral colony, and redirect a colony ship to it. Unfortunately, the ruins at that colony was a pirate trap, and another beacon in the same system was a goddamn Silvermist. Which proceeds to eat the colony the minute I claim it.

Third attempt, start a Pre-Warp custom map but with all the story settings turned on(which Legends does), also turn off pirates. Start the game, immediately attacked by pirates - yes it's a story-required event but they also extort several times what normal pirates extort from you. I eventually steal their territory map and find they're on the furthermost bands of the outer rim(I'm near the core). And as soon as their base is found, all my traders(which do NOT have the range) start swarming over there to sell off vital resources.

And then I get warred on out of the blue by a bug empire who got their hands on a high-tech cruiser that they hopped around my empire blowing stuff up with impunity. I didn't even have a military at all when war was declared. Couldn't beat their cruiser, it jumps out too fast to get any significant hits on. And then my entire empire ran out of fuel, so everything was paralyzed.

Just on the wrong side.

@Akura I always either turn pirates off or make them weak. They're more trouble than they're worth. It's not that they're difficult to deal with, they're just a raging pain in the cock, especially when you're getting five alerts every half minute because they're attacking a colony/explorer/freighter/mining station.

And if they find a random spawned abandoned powerful ship? Say hello to the editor's eraser button.

You know, it's very hard to win a battle when you receive double morale damage from casualties during the battle... right from the get-go. You know, before a single casualty has happened.
