Making a flat-ish volcano?
« on: October 06, 2018, 04:49:55 pm »

Does anyone know how to gen a world with a flat or flat-ish volcano in it? I've been genning worlds for awhile looking for one, but no luck so far.

No to the actual question.

However, volcanoes hacked in tend to be flat, so Region Manipulator may be able to give you what you want http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=164136.msg7454345#msg7454345. That requires that you use DFHack, though.

I did find a volcano under 1 z of ocean. That was 1 z of water, 1 z of obsidian, and then a typical large volcano tube of magma going straight down. I know I was fooling with increased magma settings in the world gen and the world map did not show the volcano symbol in the embark radius. There was also magma 15 or 20 z's down on land, so I never cracked the submerged volcano open.

There is something to be said about, if the stakes are as high, maybe reconsider your certitudes. One has to be aggressively allistic to feel entitled to be able to trust. But it won't happen to me, my bit doesn't count etc etc... Just saying, after my recent experiences I couldn't trust the public if I wanted to. People got their risk assessment neurons rotten and replaced with game theory. Folks walk around like fat turkeys taunting the world to slaughter them.

I find low elevation flat worlds with primary attention given to volcanoes in the corners of region squares most consistent.

I've caused what anewaname describes to happen by placing volcanoes near rivers (resulting in lakes) in world gen).
