Border Crossing Arms Race was fun but didn't really attract much attention. So this time round I'll see if there's any interest in my ideas.

And throw up a poll while I'm at it.

Giant monsters rise from the depths of the ocean. Naturally, humanity retaliates with giant robots.

Kaiju side creates a new monster each turn using biotech they've already designed, and wins by devastating each of the Earth's continents (America, South America, Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia). Different continents have different "hit point" totals.

Jaeger side designs new technology each turn and retrofits their giant robots to use that tech(or make a new robot with enough production if it's available). They win by closing each of the Kaiju side's three portals by slaying the Guardian Kaiju protecting those portals.

Yes I'm serious. The Player kingdom is suddenly assaulted by new Mobs created by the mad Herobrine. In order to kill the Mobs and storm their Nether Citadel, the Players must design new magics and technologies, as well as different fortifications. The Mobs evolve new forms in order to destroy the kingdom.

The tyrannical human empire has chased the last of the beastfolk to the ends of the earth, and in desperation, they enter the deadly Dungeon.

This would be a three-sided Arms Race. The human empire(advanced technology) would attempt to destroy the beastfolk tribes(shamanism and summoning) while the Dungeon changes the terrain and local monsters in an attempt to kill them both off. Also cat people which is awesome!

Or in which two companies attempt to outcompete each other in the food industry.

Given how much I recall it being discussed (may be wrong) in the new game planning channel of the Arms Race General discord server, Kaiju vs. Jaeger would probably be one of the better ones.  Besides, it's Giant Monsters and Giant Robots.

Then again, while a three sided Arms Race is difficult, I believe you are the person who created Catpeople at the end of Wands Race, so Dungeon Arms Race may be fitting.

Minecraft > Kaiju vs. Jaeger > Dungeon > Culinary.

I like the Kaiju vs. Jaeger, and in regards to Funk's comment, all you need is a little imagination. Pustules full of acid that burst when hit. Arms ending in dense balls. Glands in the mouth that spray incendiary goo. Holes in the torso that that house giant insects. Three Kaiju in a trench coat. Cat ears and a tail (added when I realized who posted this). The possibilities are endless!

I would be interested in a kaiju jaeger arms race. Sadly mostarms races die...
