A week later than intended, the first session happened yesterday - and here is a report (though the format is probably not going to be weekly now - either in real-time, or in-universe time, for various reasons, so just expect them whenever a mission happens, though with the goal of them being single-session, it'll probably
be after each session).
Project Phoenix: Report #1 (July 15 2018)Alert report: Rakoid IV, Rakoid: "A pirate outpost was detected within an asteroid field. It must be destroyed and the pirates be brought to justice. Expect resistance."
A group consisting of Samson-2718, Vel'Naris, Iskander Barca and Tau were sent after a pirate ship after it was seeing flying into the asteroid belt on the outskirts of the system. Inside the base, insignia of a group called Aorta were found, which according to the captured saurids are somewhat of a cult, who lure innocent people in with prospects of a well-paying job, who then go on hunts to either conscript more such people into their cult, or kidnap them, with the goal of draining them of their blood, which is then used to power Aorta's unique blood-powered machinery.
Not all the members who used the Rakoid base as their own were captured - a couple, including their leader, escaped after the Corona group went in to investigate, and another few left going for another hunt, and have not returned to the base since.
According to the capturees, their leader is a saurid man under the name of Ceser, however his backstory or current whereabouts are unknown.
Apart from the capturees, equipment and copious amounts of blood, a kidnapped Saikin woman was found and rescued by the team, who lost a dangerously high portion of her blood and is now in a critical state, in the station's medical bay. A message was sent to Sai Prime, and a group of medical professions are scheduled to arrive on the station, and take care of the woman.
The blood containers found in the base have been since transported into the station, where they now remain in a refrigerated section of the cargo bay, to be later transported to a blood bank.
Another team has been sent to refurbish the base, especially if the remaining Aorta pirates choose to return to it.
[/size]From Rakoid III-b, Rakoid: "A singular lifeform was detected around the crash site of the unidentified object. No contact has been made with it yet, and it has not moved away from the location since the landing. Contact must be made, but caution is advised if the creature turns hostile." (Class X)From Sai Prime, Sai: "The Dominator ship is still under Saikin mutineer control, and it continues to pose a threat to ships coursing through the region. Another Project Phoenix squad was sent in to investigate, but contact with them was lost once they entered the ship." (Class 1)From Luari II, Luari: "A spaceship transporting valuable minerals has crash-landed on a nearby planet. The crew must be rescued and as much of the materials as possible be salvaged. Caution and urgency is advised however, it's unknown how many survived the crash, or in how much danger they are currently." (Class 1)
