Happy Birthday USA!
« on: July 04, 2018, 07:55:04 am »

Happy Fourth Of July!

Today many of my fellow Americans will be braving the heat to celebrate the birth of our nation and the creation of what many of our historians call the "Great Experiment".  A experiment of a making a government made by the people, run by the people, for the people.

A statement, the Untied States Declaration of Independence, was adopted by the Second Continental Congress meeting at the Pennsylvania State House.  Many who signed it lost their fortunes and a few lost their lives.

But is this where it started?   Did the ideas that were stated in the document come out of thin air?  Well, let us not forget the Magna Carta Libertatum,  The Great Charter of the Liberties, that King John of England agreed to on the 15th of June, 1215.  First drafted by the Archbishop of Canterbury to make peace between the King and the rebel Barons, it promised to protect the church rights, protection the Barons from illegal imprisonment, access to swift justice, and so on.  Thank you Britain!

Many nations, such as France and Spain, helped it win its independence.  Yorktown was a great FRENCH victory.  On the Battlefield of Yorktown there is even a memorial to the French soldiers who died there.  Thank you France!

As the United States grew it influenced other nations with these ideas, such as France and it revolution, but in return it was also influenced by others.  During the Civil Rights movement Gandhi's ideas of nonviolent civil disobedience against the British heavily influenced Martin Luther King Jr.   He also influenced Nelson Mandela.  Thank you India!

In our modern ages there are many democracies.  Americans like to think we influenced them all but they would be wrong.  The ideas of freedom, equality, and elective government have been born again and again all over the world.

The Mongolian Constitution has rights for the individuals.  But has articles that deal with the protection and rights of children, families, and even the environment!  A mixture of what the Mongols liked about the USSR's socialist ideas and a mixture of what they learned from Genghis Khan.

The Great Khan of Kans is credited for bringing the Mongols the ideas of literacy, rule by law, and equality of citizens.  It is because of the Khan that the Mongols have embraced a form of government that many Americans would feel comfortable living under.  Hello my Democratic Brothers and Sisters!

Now as I post this and go to have a couple hot dogs to celebrate my nation’s birth I also do so to celebrate the ideas of freedom, liberty, and equality that cover the world.  They may have been born in many different soils but they are all just as powerful, beautiful, and everlasting!  Happy Birthday my fellow Americans!  May we have many, many, many more!
