I can try to polish things up, though I don't have access to the resources right now to do test videos or test games.

How would you suggest I fill out the original post? I am not all that great at writing, and a few suggestions would really be appreciated.

No need for videos or test games really, just make sure it's all packaged up as best as you can get it. Take a look at something like Lucidpress if you need good (free) software for making docs with.

In terms of filling out the original post, lay it out like a 'about' section on a steam game (check a few and just copy what they've done) - Bit of a blurb about what it is and then a few bullet points about the main mechanics and what makes it different. The key to this is though, as before, that you need to have a solid product - give it a name, give it a setting, give it a bit of back story. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, just lay it all out.

With enough work and polish, it could have been a forgettable flash game on Kongregate.

This sounds good to me. I will work on it once I can think up some good ideas.

Thank you for the help.

Edit: Can people help me think of a name for this game? I admittedly suck at naming things and can't come up with anything...
I am also working on the new introduction, so that will come soon.

I think it has the right ring to it.

I've got everything downloaded, but a succession of things has come up and prevented me from trying a round. I'm going to be working from home for the rest of the week, so I may set it up on the floor of my library and try to fit in some play time during breaks.

Will be updating the opening post tomorrow along with the rules download (with repair rules, since I forgot to add them).

Edit: post updated. Will add more tomorrow (I am bad at writing...). Will update the DL as well when I can.

Edit: Urgh. I can't think of anything to write. I am going to go hit my head on something for a while until I can stop being stupid.

Edit: Done and Done.

Everything is updated.

Now the big question:

Is anyone actually interested in this being a thing? Or is this too niche to be worthwhile?

Even if you would not normally comment on this, I would appreciate the honesty. I need to know if anyone is actually interested or not, and whether there is some kind market for this.

I'm interested, but in all honestly probably wouldn't buy a version of it unless the production values were really good.

So basically this is a waste of time.

So basically this is a waste of time.

As I've said before, you've probably got slightly the wrong audience here - you'd be better suited to specialist board gaming forums, maybe some naval gaming forums and similar. It's always the way with these things - the specialist forums will be more interested early, the more general forums will be more interested when you've got a full product.

You're likely to get some interest here (you already have), but not much unless you put together a proper, fully fleshed out PDF manual with some back story, pictures, etc. a few shots of the game in action and all the rest. Make a website, show it in action etc. etc. Currently you just have a zip file with a few word documents and a couple of cut outs - it's not enough to really get people going.

If you're keen, keep working on it and making it more and more refined - you'll get their in the end for sure.

I'll think about it, but we'll have to see. I will have to find the right forums.
