Additional World Interaction from Fort Mode - Founding
« on: April 17, 2018, 06:05:07 pm »

With the ever-expanding options for sending dwarves away from your fort to go violence touring interact with the world around you, what about an option to send 7 dwarves off to found an outpost if you've achieved mountainhome status?

Forts you arrange to be founded could use the new tribute system to send you goodies.

You should be able to control those fortresses too, I’ve made many suggestions regarding the control of multiple fortresses and about the upcoming addition of Fort purposes.

It would be neat to switch fortresses, but that would probably be a huge effort? I'd still be super supportive of that.

Maybe founding fortresses that work remotely would be easier given the world activation/off-site activity strides that have been made? It would be cool to say, found a scholarly fort and manage a string of scholarly forts. Maybe you could set the fort goals when you send them out?

Maybe you could request materials from a caravan and they’d unload it on your front step. Easy way to get some extra food if they did their Fortress in a forest and yours on a mountain.

And I’m incredibly exited to have purposes other than to make a Fortress so scholarly stuff would be awesome.

Since taking over other sites and running them remotely with administrators is part of this cycle, actually founding new sites doesn't seem like it would be too much of an extra step. Depends how much gets done, I suppose.
