I am a...: Metahuman (arguably, see below)

My nature is: I was born as a completely normal human girl. However, three years ago, a disease that's assumed to be of thaumic origin manifested itself in me. This disease was lethal, though not contagious. I was saved on the verge of death by a Dimensional Being that calls himself "Vidun", in a process he called "becoming a part of me". I wasn't cured from the disease, but it has no deadly symptoms anymore thanks to his help. Some of its relatively harmless side effects still manifest themselves to this day, and Vidun might have given me the ability to see thaumic energy flows with my bare eyes - I can't tell for sure if it came from him, as I haven't been able to talk with him since I woke up from my coma.

I want to become a student at Eventide because...: Applying to Eventide was mostly my parents' idea. What they mostly had in mind was my safety - when I came back to high school, I was bullied on a daily basis because of my differences to an usual kid, sometimes with severe consequences from my weakness. They asked me to stop going to school altogether after the one time I was found unconscious in a nearby street, preferring for me to be home-schooled instead. Being in a college for Awakened Beings would mean I would have a much lower chance of being picked on for my difference. But more importantly, since I met Vidun, they have a feeling that my personality has drastically changed, as if he had taken over. I personally see no difference compared to before, and my psychiatrist thinks it's from the constant trauma I've been under since then, but they insist that I get some classes about Dimensional Beings, hoping that I would know how not to succumb to his control if it's what he seeks.

I come from the elemental plane. You know about the spirit world and crap? It's sort of like that, but with gnomes and fairies and shit. We all personify water or something stupid like that. Personally speaking I can manipulate flames. If I get pissed, I lose control. You do not want to know about how many houses I've gone through. I'm taking anger management courses for that reason, but the shit's not working and I need help.
I want to become a student at Eventide because...: Believe me when I say I really do want to control my power. You're professionals at this sort of thing, right? You SHOULD be able to help me. Besides that... well, when you can manipulate fire, you get the urge to burn things. If I join this task force or whatever I can at LEAST put that to use towards something constructive.

Huh, I do have to say this wasn't something I expected to see pop up. I won't be applying to play, both because I've become actually somewhat occupied as of late with other endeavours that deserve my attention, and out of respect for ... well, everything that I did last time around - if I tried to go back into a setting like this, I've no doubt that particular side of me would inevitably pop up again. As can be deduced from this post, I will however be keeping a hazy eye on it. You're a good writer, Rag, and I always have been somewhat of a sucker for these sorts of things.

I am a...: Metahuman / Demihuman / Dimensional Being

My nature is: Immortality, but only in regards to actions performed by other people, or something like a freak accident. You can stab me, shoot me, hit me with a train, drop the Tsar Bomba into my lap - I won't feel any of it. And if a giant tree branch randomly conked me on the head, I wouldn't feel that either. But I can still starve to death, and I age normally. I also got the flu once when I was sixteen, so I assume that means I could be killed by a disease or virus instead. I have no idea why this is. Kind of stupid, don't you think? I do.

My dad is a dimensional being, and he's completely immortal. 100%. Absolutely nothing at all in the world can kill him (and they've tried. Especially those Children of Van Helsing weirdos). You don't have to worry about him, though. I think he lives on some mountain in... Tibet, maybe? He pretty much made me and left, but I don't really care about that. I wouldn't expect him to stick around with my mom. She wasn't exactly happy when she found out that my dad wasn't really human, though at that point I was eight months along so she couldn't really do anything about me. I know she loves me, though. Just not as much as she would if I was normal.[/font]

I want to become a student at Eventide because...: I want to eventually join the UN's Awakened Being Task Force. Eventide is the first place I would be able to go to in order to interact with a large amount of other awakeneds like me - besides the occasional internet forum and things like that. It'll be a great stepping stone for getting into the Force, where I can use my nature to show the humans that maybe not every awakened being is as bad as they think we are.

I can wrassle wrestle any gator in Calcasieu County and I know my way around a duck gun jes just fine, but we're "a wizard family", they say, so I gotta learn me some majicks have to acquire the proper skills to be worthy of my family name.

I am a...: Dimensional Being (By virtue of mom.)
My nature is: Magical. As a Vanir (My father might be human but Vanir only have Vanir children.) I have a natural connection to Seiğr. Which has... occasionally gotten interesting. Literally being a witch, even as a anklebiter, makes you both the coolest and scariest person in school. Probably didn't help that I was all too eager to try and help my friends who didn't mind my talking to animals and whatever else I got up to. Turns out using Seiğr is hard when you've no idea how to actually use it other than to just kind of metaphorically spraying it in a general direction and hope it does something good (There was this one time with the neighbors cat.... Actually, that story doesn't make me look very good so let's not get into that). Let's just get to the fact before I ramble on too much.

   Perks:
   * Literally golden hair. As in actually gold color. It even reflects light like metal. This is actually also how I harness Seiğr. You'd think that'd mean I'd keep it as long as possible. But I've always tried very hard to only keep it as long as I can handle. I'm proud to say it's getting pretty long these days. (I used to have a complex about having shorter hair than most boys when I was little.)
   * Magic. Yeah it didn't really do me much favor as a kid - other than the cat I previously mentioned helping me hide whenever I wanted to be alone and birds literally telling me secrets (they really are gossips) - but now that I've got a grasp on runes and woad it's really quite useful.
   * Longevity. Okay yes. Aging slower than everyone else has lead to some angst. (You think a normal teenager worries about the popular girls growing larger tits than her...) But I've more time on this planet to learn, play, see and just generally... life. I count that as a good thing.
   * Not to sound vain. But being pretty really does open a lot of doors in life. Though I'm not sure if this is because of my Vanir heritage or just good ol' genetics?

   Cons:
   * Literally golden hair. Sometimes you wanna melt into a crowd, y'know? Besides. The whole thing with longer hair = moar Seiğr has implications.
   * Magic. When someone finds out you can do fuckin' magic they expect you to fix all their problems. Seriously.
   * Everything else. Yeah I got magic and I'm basically a elf. But here's the thing? Anything that hurts, binds or otherwise screws with creatures from other worlds? Yeah it works on me. Everything except the stuff that specifically rejects evil. Holy water? Nope.
Cold iron? Sure. Hell. You can bind me with steel if you know the magic words. ... This information isn't made public right?

I want to become a student at Eventide because...: Okay so I hinted at this earlier. But magic is the crux here. You ever read Harry Potter? Pretty much that. I draw on Seiğr naturally. And if I get emotional or loose control I might use it unintentionally. And then we got half the neighborhood reaching for pitchforks and torches. And I wasn't about to spend my entire life bald, either. I need to learn to master my magic so I can live a normal life. Away from other people that might talk me into using it stupidly or judge me for fucking up - or having magic to begin with. I need a safe space with qualified teachers. Plus making some friends that won't be jealous or hoping to weedle favors out of me might be nice.

Addendum/Demonstration Video:
[The video starts with adjusting focus. A young woman sits on a plush-looking foot stool in the middle of what appears the be a large open room, the furniture moved up against the walls. The girl is distractedly stroking a thick chest-length golden braid, alternating both hands. She's dressed simply, wearing a knee-length hoodie-dress and a distracted expression]

Hild: "You ready, honey?"

[The girl snaps out of it and gives the camera a small but dazzlingly genuine smile]

Idunna: "Yeah, Ma'. Let's do this."

[There's a pause, Idunna continues to idly stroke her braid, staring into the camera with bright blue eyes. The light bring the dull blue woad pattern painted over her cheek and neck - and probably more of her body - into sharp contrast.]

Hild: "So go ahead and tell us!"

Idunna: "Right. Okay. So, I should probably demonstrate my skill for the application, right? So uh..." [She giggles and throws the braid back over her shoulder with a cough.] "I'm sorry. I'm nervous."

Hild: "Take your time."

Idunna: "Right. Seiğr is formless. Which means it's power can't reach us - creatures of form and flesh - without some kind of vessel. So to make it do.. STUFF. We use things like runes or woad."

[Idunna gestures to the woad on her neck and pulls down the collar of her shirt, revealing that the pattern continues down her collar and chest]

Idunna: "The material is important. The medium reflects the intent. The woad I wear uses dyes made with oak and clover to give me vitality, luck and other generally healthy good stuff. You might use iron if you wanna be tough and strong. It's all pretty involved, but pretty straightforward."

[Idunna slowly rises to her feet, the camera pulls back and rises slightly to follow her movement and keep her in focus.]

Idunna: "Runes are kind of the same. Besides Seiğr, you need to make it with a material that embodies the power of the rune. So you might use gold for both Feoh and Jerra. Since gold fits both 'Wealth' and 'Reward' or 'Fortune'. In this case,  I'll make Rad - the wheel - with my voice. Since breath is how we communicate with each other and the wheel includes messages in it's power."

[Idunna raises a hand, one finger extended, as if to trace something in the air, and takes a deep breath. As she exhales, her voice seems magnified and echoing with a deep and primal power.]

Idunna: "Rad."

[As she pronounces the word, her voice seems to fade and die out rapidly while she draws the rune in the air in what seems to be solid wind. A brilliant but see-through white. Her voice used as paint. When she speaks again, she sounds slightly hoarse.]

Idunna: "I hope you'll take my application under consideration! Thank you!"

Hild: "That was perfect."

[Idunna bows in a old-fashioned manner. Her hands clasped together and her hair obscuring her face before the video ends.]

Idunna is young looking, underdeveloped (barely any bust, her only real curve(s) her somewhat wider than usual hips), and fit. Not muscular, but with the kind of definition to her legs and stomach that comes from someone habitually exercising to stay in shape. She has voluminous and slightly wavy golden hair framing a round face with a somewhat sharp chin, a thin nose with a wider tip and deep set, somewhat slanted, blue-green eyes.
