how do save gpu settings for df
« on: January 01, 2018, 08:10:36 pm »

So I have an Nvidia  in my laptop, as well as an onboard graphical processor. DF.exe defaults to using the latter.
Now with other programs, I can go into the Nvidia settings screen, add the program to the list, and set it to use the Nvidia card as standard.
But when I do that with df.exe, Nvidia doesn't save it for some reason, and the next time I look at it it says that it uses the integrated graphics as standard again.
Now it's no big deal, I can make it use Nvidia manually.

But. It does mean that I can never run df both as administrator, and on the Nvidia. When I rightclick df.exe, I can either run it as an administrator, using the standard integrated graphics, or I can make it use the Nvidia, but not run as an administrator. Two different buttons under the right click pop-up.

Anyone know how to make Nvidia remember df.exe?

I don't know the answer to your question, but why on earth would you want to run DF as administrator?  Unless I'm misunderstanding you, that seems like a really bad idea.  Running applications as administrator is just asking to get pwned.  I'm a bit surprised Windows even *gives* you that option so easily...

I wanted to test if that gives me more FPS. Probably not.
