My theory:

Looks like a dwarf that got caught outside during a siege. The thoughts about friends and goblins dying imply violence, while the lack of thoughts about training or patrolling imply that he himself isn't a soldier. The deaths of dingoes and troglodytes however imply that he might have been a hunter. Only mothers carry their babies with them, so when a father lost his child in the same event as his leg, the violence was most likely more widespread than a small-scale ambush. Starvation and dehydration are parts of normal dwarven hospital experience, but his complaints about lack of chairs and mugs indicates that this might have been a relatively young fortress.

After checking the answer, turns out my theory was way off.

And the goblins were what hospitalized him AFAIK, the titan ignored him for some reason.
